Maybe.The only complaint I ever see about Aerons is that they have a hard plastic lip that contacts the bottom of your thighs.I find that a footrest can make it so this lip doesn’t contact my legs so much and eases any discomfort that may arise over long sitting sessions.Overall, it’s really not a big deal though.I would recommend trying out the Aeron first to see if the plastic lip bothers you at all before you invest in a footrest.

In some regards, I do not know why more people aren’t talking about Aeron.It is very good at what it does and its being actively worked on and improved all the time.I suspect however that it is the laser focus on being what it wants to be that may be putting people off – it may simply be too niche.Specifically, its dedication to transparency while being one of the pillars on which Aeron is built, is probably not as desirable to a mainstream consumer as say, the guaranteed zero downtime of Kafka or JSON support of Hazelcast.

History of Aeron

In 1939, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA, the forerunner of NASA) began research at Ames Laboratory.

In 2010, it was called “America’s best-selling chair” and is featured in the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection.[1] It was designed by Don Chadwick and Bill Stumpf and has received numerous accolades for its industrial design.[2]
