He added that instead of hindering or inhibiting innovators who are focused on complying with regulations while enabling new technologies, the Qtum Foundation would “like to support those builders by backing Blockpass’ expansion to the Qtum blockchain.”Qtum Co-founder Jordan Earls noted that on-chain KYC will become a vital component for many different protocols on the decentralized web or Web 3.0.

    Support

Blockpass continues to develop its digital identity protocol with updates and additions to improve the compliance experience.Blockpass has grown significantly in size and use since its inception, both in the number and range of users and companies it has partnered with, and the scope of its work.

    Transactions

Blockpass offers an onchain identity solution that is easy to combine with other decentralized technologies or processes: Blockpass offers an onchain, immediately available, verified digital identity. For a transaction to be compliant in regulators’ eyes, both transacting parties need to prove the transaction was personally authenticated.Furthermore, this setup enables the generation of multi-signature smart contracts that require personal authentication with the Blockpass tool. With Blockpass, users can transparently sign transactions and Dapp accounts with their compliant digital identity, meaning that buyers and sellers will be able to safely and compliantly complete transactions and that Dapps will seamlessly meet the basic verification requirements for the services they provide.

We do not recommend using multiple devices.Blockpass does not store your data on its server. All your data is stored locally.

What is a ‘hash’ of my data?

A hash is simply an encrypted “digital footprint,” or fixed-size alphanumeric string of data, that is based on the input of specific data (in this case the data you used to verify your identity) into a cryptographic function.

How is my identity stored on Blockpass?

Your personal information is NOT stored on the blockchain.Blockpass simply stores a special identifier, called a ‘hash’, of your personal information.Once your information is verified, it is sealed in a digital packet and put through a ‘hashing’ mechanism. This process creates a random string of digits that represents your personal data.If even one pixel or letter in your personal data is changed, this hash will be 100% different. This process allows for an anonymous representation of your data to be stored without risk of a centralized data breach.

    What is a certificate?

Certificates are issued by third parties to certify some of your information. It can certify the validity of your passport, your age, your address or even simply the fact that you are registered with a service.

Do you really destroy my data once verification is complete?

Yes, we are working on a formal auditing process for assurance of data destruction. Our third party professional services partners will monitor and replicate our procedures to confirm that we do indeed destroy all personal information once an individual is verified and whitelisted.

How do I recover my identity?

If you have lost your device or uninstalled the Blockpass application, you will need a backup file to recover your identity.

How can you assure me that the data I provide to Blockpass will actually be destroyed (removed) from your system once my KYC is verified?

Blockpass verifiers are thoroughly vetted by the Blockpass foundation, which itself is audited on a regular basis.New third party verifiers must meet certain standards set by the foundation, and are required to sign legal agreements declaring their understanding of said standards.

What are some distinct features that blockpass could differentiate from other KYC ICO projects?

Blockpass can primarily differentiate itself from other KYC ICO projects by the fact that it isn’t a KYC ICO project.Blockpass is an identity application, used to create, store, manage, and utilize user-centric and self-sovereign identities.Blockpass’ initial releases focus on human identities, which can be utilized for KYC verification, but this is in no way the end vision of the application.

I haven’t received any certificates, what should I do?

Certificates are not automatic.Third parties may or may not decide to issue a certificate for you.

Why is Blockpass holding three separate events of Token Distribution Events?

As stated above, Blockpass is an all-encompassing identity application that will involve a number of key releases. Our token distribution process is designed to maximize distribution of the token as well as the KYC app itself. Each token distribution event targets the type of service providers and users that would receive the most benefit from using the application in its current form at that time.

    Is Blockpass fully decentralized?

Blockpass protocol is not decentralized… at the moment. As blockchain technology becomes more mature, Blockpass will mitigate its own dependency and move most of the business logic to decentralized solutions.

Document verifications are performed by third parties. You will need to share your data with them to get verifications.

    Picking an Identity Solution?

Make an informed decision on the right provider from in-depth reviews and feature comparisons.

What’s stopping me from creating and verifying a Blockpass identity based on stolen data?

The Blockpass application won’t stop you from using a stolen identity; however, you won’t be able to receive valid certificates from third party verifiers if the identity has been reported stolen.Secondly, third party services will still need to verify that the identity is legitimate. They can conduct additional verification. If they detect that the identity has been stolen, they will need to report this to local authorities.

The certificate that I have received is not in my favor, what should I do?

If you do not like the content of a certificate that you have received, you can simply reject it.

How is the conflict between GDPR and financial regulation rectified?

Although we take GDPR compliance seriously, merchants who are involved in trading and financial services will have to abide by regulatory requirements in their jurisdiction.Regardless of the coming of GDPR, they may be required by financial regulators to keep data on investors. That is the responsibility of the.merchant and not Blockpass, which will be keeping NO data on any users.

    What is Self-sovereign identity?

Self-sovereign identity is individual ownership and control of your identity data.In the current world, your identity is owned, shared, traded, sold and auctioned by various third party groups that seek to monetize your personal information.Self-sovereign identity puts your information back in your hands and under your control.

I have my identity ready, where can I use it?

We are still working on adding services into the Blockpass application.

    What is Blockpass?

Blockpass is a self-sovereign identity application — a means by which users can create, store, and manage digital identities. In the first iteration of the Blockpass user application, users are able to create effective digital identities that enable onboarding to regulated Blockchain services such as banks, exchanges, and payment platforms.Future releases of the application will enable the creation, storage, and management of identities for companies, devices and other objects, thereby facilitating the Internet of Things (IoT).
