Devery has led the Community Affairs efforts for the Chickasaw Nation since 2007, working with Chickasaw Governor Bill Anoatubby and leaders of this proud Native American Tribe to actively coordinate investment and leadership in the communities within the historic Chickasaw boundaries and other strategic communities central to Chickasaw investments.
Devery led massive development in the Bricktown Warehouse Entertainment District that included America’s only urban Bass Pro store, a major movie theater complex and more, while developing creative promotions throughout downtown that included a holiday season ice rink.
Devery's last military assignments was commander of the Joint Training and Training Technology Development Center at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, where he led a team of training experts who provided strategic, operational and tactical-level instruction to U.S.
Devery received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University, her Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin, and has completed coursework in Higher Education Administration from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education.
Devery was born and raised in Napa, California and spent her youth crushing grapes with her bare feet (not really) from her grandparent’s vineyard (really), to help produce the family’s very own award-winning* Cabernet Sauvignon (*debatable).
Devery’s primary role is to work with a variety of stakeholders including the Mayor, staff in the Mayor’s Office, Council, colleagues at The City of Calgary and external partners to execute on broad priorities on behalf of the citizens of Calgary.
Devery was the Director of Harvard’s Summer Institute of College Admissions, the Co-Director of Harvard Financial Aid Initiative (HFAI), and also served on the national scholarship selection committee for The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.
Devery’s counsel argued that the very use of the word “deliberate” might be confusing to the jury and favored sending in a note inquiring, in general terms, whether the jury’s notes were the results of “discussions” that morning.
Devery spent eight years leading private sector development efforts surrounding Oklahoma City’s visionary MAPS Program, with over $1 billion of private sector development created during his tenure.

Devery has also served as chief of staff for the New Jersey Army National Guard, the joint director of Military Support for the New Jersey National Guard, the recruiting commander and as a supervisory instructor pilot.Prior to that assignment, Devery was the deputy director/chief of staff of the Afghan National Security Forces Development Assistance Bureau, ISAF Joint Command (IJC-ADAB), stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan.
