DODO

Overview of DODO

  • Dodo Seriki’s research interests include the use of Culturally Relevant Pedagogy and Cultural Modeling in science education; the intersectionality of race, class, and gender in education (including p-12, Higher education, teacher education, and science education) as seen through the lens of Critical Race Theory; and accessibility of STEM educational opportunities by Black children.
  • Dodo, (Raphus cucullatus), extinct flightless bird of Mauritius (an island of the Indian Ocean), one of the three species that constituted the family Raphidae, usually placed with pigeons in the order Columbiformes but a fewtimes separated as an order (Raphiformes).
  • DODO is a Chinese decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol and on-chain liquidity provider whose unique proactive market maker (PMM) algorithm aims to offer better liquidity and price stability than automated market makers (AMM).
  • DODO’s PMM algorithm was developed entirely in-house by the DODO team iterating on the design of Automated Market Makers (AMMs) to improve capital efficiency, reduce impermanent loss, and minimize slippage for traders.
  • Dodo doubtsHowever, independent ornithologist Anthony Cheke said that he wasn’t swayed by the study and maintains that the last reliable sighting of dodos was indeed on an island off Mauritius in 1662.
  • Dodos had a distinctive beak that may have been pale yellow or green which was heavy, curved and probably the dodo's only real defense; it was capable of delivering a fairly painful bite.
  • DODO positions itself as one of the most competitive liquidity providers that offers very low transaction fees and price slippage through its PMM algorithm, first conceived in April 2020.

  • DODO also caters for new crypto projects with a free ICO listing through its Initial DODO Offering (IDO) which requires issuers to only deposit their own tokens.
  • Dodo Birds, while now extinct, were found only on the small island of Mauritius, a few 500 miles east of Madagascar, and 1200 miles east of Africa.

DODO’s smart contract operates as an ERC20 token on the Ethereum network.

    Any impermanent loss?

Short answer: there is reduced impermanent loss on DODO compared to other AMM platforms.Long answer: On DODO, there is no AMM-specific impermanent loss caused by asset reallocation.LPs do need to beware of market/inventory risk associated with market making.

Do I have to deposit pair tokens?

No.DODO allows liquidity providers to deposit any amount
of base or quote tokens. You deposit what you have,
nothing more.Unlocking single-token deposit gives LPs the flexibility to choose how they want to market-make.

How Is the DODO Network Secured?

DODO is a decentralized protocol and therefore resistant to centralized network attacks relying on a single point of failure.DODO’s smart contracts were audited by PeckShield, a blockchain security company, on July 10 2020.Its audit report on DODO can be accessed here.

How long has it taken science to get to this point?

Richard Owen, the inaugural director of the Museum, rose to fame in 1866 when he first described the dodo.

How Many DODO (DODO) Coins Are There in Circulation?

The total supply of the DODO token is 1 billion (1,000,000,000).There are currently 12 million coins in circulation.

How will the model be used in the future?

The key thing about this model is it’s based on a complete skeleton of just one bird.It means that any measurements you take from it are proportionally correct.

So why have the birds been equated with stupidity all these years?

So why have the birds been equated with stupidity all these years? What did they do to deserve such a fate? Well, we can speculate a couple of reasons. The first, and most likely, was that, as island animals that had never encountered natural predators before, they were completely unafraid of humans. You don’t need to be told how that ended.Gold hypothesizes, “Maybe something about it being flightless led to the thought of it being too dumb to fly.

What do we know about the dodo (and what don’t we know)?

Despite its relatively recent extinction, the life history of the dodo continues to elude us.More is known about the dinosaurs – their population structure, nesting behaviour, eggs and young – than of a bird that disappeared relatively recently due to human interference.

    What does the dodo eat?

The dodo most likely ate fruits, nuts, seeds, and roots. It’s also been suggested that they may have eaten crabs and other shellfish, but nothing about this has been definitely proven.Reports indicate that the dodos may have consumed stones and iron to ease digestion and grind up food. This unusual behavioral quirk is actually common among many animals.

    What eats the dodo?

Unaccustomed to predation, these birds made a very easy target for settlers, which killed them in large numbers and saved what they didn’t eat immediately for later.Reports indicate that the sailors could wander right up to the birds and club them to death. But what probably sealed its fate was the introduction of deer, pigs, rats, cats, and monkeys, who preyed mercilessly on the exposed eggs or trampled the nests.

    What Is DODO?

DODO is a Chinese decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol and on-chain liquidity provider whose unique proactive market maker (PMM) algorithm aims to offer better liquidity and price stability than automated market makers (AMM).

    What is PMM?

Developed by the DODO team, Proactive Market Maker (PMM)
is an oracle-aided algorithm with an advanced pricing formula that
provides contract-fillable liquidity.Traders get lower slippage with PMM than AMMs.

Who Are the Founders of DODO?

Dodo was officially launched in August 2020, founded by Diane Dai, Radar Bear and an anonymous development team.It initially attracted a $600,000 seed round led by Framework Ventures.

Why was the dodo only found in Mauritius?

We are using DNA sequencing to pin down the dodo’s relationship to other birds.

Will we find out more about the lifestyles of the birds?

Unless we find new accounts, how the dodo lived is a mystery.

    History of DODO

  • In 1505, the Portuguese became the first humans to set foot on Mauritius.
  • In 1507, Portuguese ships slipped into the island’s harbor, which was the beginning of the end for the odd-looking bird.
  • IN 1598, a squadron of Dutch ships landed on an uninhabited island in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
  • In 1848 they published a monograph, The Dodo and its Kindred.
  • In 1865, government schoolmaster at Mahébourg, George Clark, finally found an abundance of subfossil dodo bones in the swamp of Mare aux Songes in Southern Mauritius, after searching for thirty years, having been inspired by Strickland & Melville’s monograph about the bird.[1] In 1866, Clark explained his procedure to The Ibis, an ornithology journal:
  • In 2011, Claessens and two of his students travelled to Mauritius to take a closer look at Thirioux’s find.
