Overview of EUNOMIA
Eunomia appears to be an elongated but fairly regularly shaped body, with what appear to be four sides of differing curvature and noticeably alternative average compositions.[6] Its elongation led to the suggestion that Eunomia may be a binary object, but this has been refuted.[7] it’s a retrograde rotator with its pole pointing towards ecliptic coordinates (β, λ) = (−65°, 2°) with a 10° uncertainty.[6][7] This gives an axial tilt of about 165°.
Eunomia (Greek: Εὐνομία) was a minor Greek goddess of law and legislation (her name can be translated as “good order”, “governance according to good laws”), as well as the spring-time goddess of green pastures (eû means “well, good” in Greek, and νόμος, nómos, means “law”, while pasturelands are called nomia).[1][2] She is by most accounts the daughter of Themis and Zeus.
Eunomia’s knowledge of deposit return schemes (DRS) for beverage containers is very much in demand, with Zero Waste Scotland requesting a report on the feasibility of implementing a nation-wide Scottish scheme in 2015, which has led to Scotland committing to a DRS in 2017, the details of which it’s now refining through public discussion.
