Overview of Haven Protocol
Blockchain
Haven Protocol’s first synthetic asset, xUSD, went live in July, 2020.Since that time, over 4.5 million xUSD have been minted. With the help of some of Monero’s top developers, Haven Protocol’s new developers succeeded in adding Colored Coins to a private blockchain in May, 2020 – a huge milestone for both projects.
Mine
The simple explanation is that Monero uses the sum of an output to determine whether a transaction is valid and Haven Protocol’s developers managed to find a way to accurately include the values of various colored coins in this sum.
Network
Commenting on the integration with Band Protocol, David Bandtock, Project Lead at Haven Protocol, said that it is a critical step towards decentralizing Haven, a top priority of the network’s team and community alike.Haven Protocol is based on the Monero network, one of the most decentralized, secure, and privacy-focused crypto networks globally. The protocol allows users to peg their XHV tokens to various fiat currencies, including the USD, EUR, and CNY, or traditional assets like Gold and Silver.
Support
Haven Protocol’s blog post about announcing the Haven Foundation also seems to hint that they will be building payment tools such as cryptocurrency debit cards that will support XHV, xUSD, and other xAssets. It also hints that it aims to turn the project into a decentralized autonomous organization.Neither of these two are noted on their roadmap at the moment.
Transactions
In addition to the privacy features mentioned earlier, Haven Protocol has added a few additional features to its transactions to ensure the mint and burn mechanism for xUSD remains stable. The first is something called ‘notes’.
Are the transactions private?
Yes, Monero’s privacy feature set is widely considered to be the benchmark within cryptocurrency. All transactions and account balances are fully private including the sender, receiver and the amount.Privacy in Haven is by default, meaning there is no way to accidentally make a transparent transaction.Further details can be found on the Haven Whitepaper.
Can I send my money to anyone I want?
Absolutely, as long as they have a Haven vault then you can send XHV or any of the other supported xAssets anywhere in the world quickly, securely and extremely cheaply.
Could someone manipulate the price of XHV in order to lower it to burn a lot of XHV coins for more XHVD — then pump up the price and mint back more XHV than they started with?
This would be an extremely expensive exercise. In order to profit, you would need a large amount of funds — to the point where the cost of manipulating Offshore Storage in this way is not significantly different to the cost of manipulating any market.
Crypto Developer Quits Haven Protocol (XHV), Is it Dead?
Privacy-focused, stable-coin-of-sorts crypto, the Haven Protocol (XHV), appears to have been disbanded.According to Tweets from those involved in the project, one of the lead developers has disappeared with the only access to the code repository, halting development for months.
FAQ: What would would happen in a 51% attack situation? Couldn’t they force everyone to accept a tampered price?
No.If the price in the block doesn’t match what is expected by your oracle, even if it is the longest chain with the most work, it will be rejected.
Glitch in the matrix?
An amusing TradeOrge glitch reported Haven’s price to be 7.6 BTC for a short time before being rectified.
How can I store and convert to different xAssets?
Your money is stored in a digital vault. You can think of this as a private offshore account that only you can access and control. There are vaults available for all major operating systems including mobile and desktop and different options depending on your technical knowledge.Once you have XHV or xUSD in your vault you can then convert to any other supported xAssets within the vault with no limits on the amount and no conversion slippage.
How do I buy Haven Protocol?
It is not possible to buy all cryptocurrencies with U.S.dollars.Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin and other popular cryptocurrencies can be purchased with U.S.dollars using Coinbase or BlockFi.Once you have purchased Bitcoin using Coinbase, you can then transfer your Bitcoin to an exchange such as Binance to purchase other cryptocurrencies, including Haven Protocol.
How do I get a Haven Protocol address?

need to set up a Haven Protocol wallet of your choice.Check out our wallets
section for advice on which type of wallet will suit you best.Once you’ve set up a
wallet, for receiving or sending coins your wallet client will each time generate a
unique Haven Protocol adress.
How do I mine Haven Protocol?
Haven Protocol can be mined using specialized mining software.XMR Stak is a commonly-used mining tool that works for CPU mining and GPU mining with both Nvidia and AMD graphics cards.CCMiner is another popular mining tool for computers with NVIDIA graphics cards. In addition to having mining software, you will need a Haven Protocol and access to a mining pool that pools your effort with other miners and a wallet to store the Haven Protocol that you earn from mining. Most cryptocurrencies have multiple publicly-available mining pools that can be found with a simple Google search.
How Does Haven Guarantee Security and Privacy?
Haven benefits from the cryptographic mechanism known as ring signatures, detailed originally by CryptoNote and adopted by Monero. In a traditional coin, like Bitcoin, the user signs his or her data with a cryptographic hash.Monero’s team compares the Bitcoin method to a signature on a personal check. The hash and the user, then, can be implied.Ring signatures introduce the possibility that one of several users actually signed off on and verified the data.
How does Haven Protocol work?
Although Haven Protocol is described as a fork of Monero, it is more accurate to call it a clone of Monero.Haven Protocol has the same transactions per second (1700 – theoretically unlimited due to adaptive block sizes), the same base transaction fees (less than 1 cent), the same block time (2 minutes), and the same mining algorithm (proof of work – RandomX).
How Does Haven Remain Stable?
Haven cannot be accessed with the traditional metric of total supply, as manipulating that figure is the key to maintaining Haven’s integrity and fighting inflation.
How Is the Haven Protocol Network Secured?
Haven Protocol uses a proof-of-work consensus mechanism, similar to that of Monero.Due to the functionality of the mining algorithm, users do not need specialized mining devices to mine new coins. As a result, a regular computer is enough for mining.Furthermore, the network uses similar privacy features to Monero’s.
How is the price determined?
The price is determined based on a weighted average and will be calculated over all exchange values, primarily based on volume, and normalized over previous 20 previous prices. Each oracle reaches out to the exchange APIs and gets the recent market history.
How many assets will there be on the network?
Having started off with xUSD we will look to add further xAssets over time. The first 4 to be added to the network will be Gold, Silver, Euro and Chinese Yuan. With the release of xUSD, Haven has just added the world’s first coloured coin implementation on the Cryptonote protocol.

How many XHV coins are there?
As of March 2021 there are around 14.2 Million XHV in circulation but due to the way the protocol works this will fluctuate according to the demand for the other xAssets in the network. As it is a PoW coin there are a number created via mining and this emission schedule follows the same curve as Monero. The live circulating supply can be found here:https://explorer.havenprotocol.
How to buy Haven Protocol (XHV) from above-listed exchanges?

Is it profitable to
invest in Haven Protocol?
Yes.The long-term earning potential is
+93.67% in one year.
Is it safe?
Your vaults are protected by a password that you set up and must remember in order to access your funds.During the process of setting up the vault you will be given a 25 word seed phrase.Should you lose your password you can restore your vault using this seed.
Main question: How far off are we to a complete solution?
We have an end-to-end solution for a new version of the oracle which needs to be coded and tested, reusing as much of the codebase as possible. We are in the process of determining the skills available on the development team and the work that needs to be completed. We may need to reach out for more help if the team doesn’t have all the skills or knowledge necessary to complete this solution.
So, how is it funded?
Most of the team work on a voluntary basis and receive no payment for their input. The developers do receive compensation in the form of XHV due to the large number of hours they give to the project.Funding comes from a 5% governance fee as well as asset exchange fees.It is spent on essential infrastructure, marketing and developer costs. We also have a committed and rapidly growing community who give many hours to marketing and project awareness.
