Overview of Insolar

Insolar CEO, Andrey Zhulin, said: “Insolar is  a full-service ecosystem that will help any organisation, of any size, profit from blockchain technology — from proof of concept, to production — and give them the tools they need to innovate and build the transformative business models of tomorrow.”

Insolar has previously created a demo of how this solution would work to address the industry choke points, demonstrating how the over-the-counter uranium market can be digitised and ultimately automated so that transactions no longer need to be inefficiently handled on a case-by-case basis.

Insolar envisions itself as a key enabler of energy transition by building an enterprise-grade, Transactive Energy Platform to align the economic objectives of distributed stakeholders with the overall objective of maintaining grid resiliency.

Insolar follows a layered consensus approach to ensure the honesty of nodes and the validation of transactions while offering a lot of flexibility and scalability for the design and coexistence of any type of use case.

Insolar Research also employs 35 full-time engineers, who it says: “have built and maintained industrial, high-load, and high-availability systems and have expertise in blockchain, AI, machine learning, and IoT.”

For instance, we can imagine being selected to participate as a supplier in the Abu Dhabi Smart Cities initiative with our TES, to optimize mobility, energy supply from renewables, and utilities.Ideally, the WEC will give us access to fill this role in several Smart City initiatives around the world.In the best case scenario, the WEC will give us the opportunity to showcase our Transactive Energy System (TES) such that we can create large scale roll-out that will have maximum impact to effectively battle climate change.The SET platform and Innovation Hub at the WEC are excellent networking opportunities, which can connect us to like-minded companies and initiatives which are aiming to promote the energy transition, just as Insolar is doing.

Is the renewable energy tax credit still available?

The most practical benefit from a solar investment is the tax credit and depreciation on the equipment in year one and the reduction in near-term income tax liabilities.Currently, the renewable energy tax credit for solar energy systems is 30% for the 2019 tax year, and is available through December 31, 2021, with a gradual step down over the following two years.
