Overview of Starbase
StarBase is a database for decoding miRNA-mRNA, miRNA-lncRNA, miRNA-sncRNA, miRNA-circRNA, miRNA-pseudogene, protein-lncRNA, protein-ncRNA, protein-mRNA interactions and ceRNA networks from CLIP-Seq (HITS-CLIP, PAR-CLIP, iCLIP, CLASH) and degradome sequencing data.[1][2] starBase provides miRFunction and ceRNAFunction web tools to predict the function of ncRNAs (miRNAs, lncRNAs, pseudogenes) and protein-coding genes from the miRNA and ceRNA regulatory networks.
STARBASE is a five-day program, scheduled consecutively, for a total of 25 academic hours. The program is open to all schools in commuting distance of the West Virginia Air National Guard in Charleston, WV. We reach nearly every fifth grade student in Kanawha County Schools. The 130th Airlift Wing, West Virginia Air National Guard, serves as our host unit.
STARBASE Maxwell is a unique and innovative Department of Defense (DoD) STEM awareness and outreach program that creates a bridge between DoD and civilian communities while providing local students access to DoD’s wealth of expertise in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) career fields.
starBase also deverloped Pan-Cancer Analysis Platform to decipher Pan-Cancer Analysis Networks of lncRNAs, miRNAs, ceRNAs and RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) by mining clinical and expression profiles of 14 cancer types (>6000 samples) from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Data Portal.

STARBASE is a nonresidential program for students (grades K-12, though the main focus is grades 4-8) that provides them with real-world applications of math and science through experiential learning, simulations, and experiments in aviation and space-related fields.
starbase is inseemed to be relatively small in scope so that it may be easily exseemed and customized, or used as a learning tool for folks who are trying to become familiar with webpack 4, PostCSS and/or ES6.
Starbase is developed with Frozenbyte’s internal game engine that is custom-built for conquering space, enabling the use of the extremely challenging combination of voxel and vertex technologies in the game.
Starbase Early Access invites you, the pioneers, to a new galaxy that you can begin to first explore from one station, the Mega Station, located at the celestial orbit of a single planet.
STARBASE offers academies through the entire year: School year academies for school groups, summer academies for individual enrollment, and advanced academies for former atseemees.

History of Starbase
In 1993 DoD started a new program to make first contact with 10 year old Americans called Starbase.
In 1993, Kansas STARBASE was established to serve students in 4th, 5th or 6th grades who are historically under-represented in STEM.
